Hofmannophila pseudospretella is an Asian species that was introduced to Europe in the mid-19th century. It is common inside buildings throughout Britain and can often be found resting on inside walls as night falls. The larvae feed on the detritus that collects behind skirting boards and other such undisturbed places.
